Mabul Water Bungalows is a new floating resort located on the Coast of Mabul Island, overlooking the infamous Sipadan Island. With some of the world greatest dive sites of Sipadan just a 15 minute boat ride away; Mabul Water Bungalows is ideally situated for people who love to dive.

The 15 wooden bungalows that make up Mabul Water Bungalows are exquisitely furnished with contemporary furniture and décor. Each bungalow comes equipped with all the usual mod cons including, bathroom with hot/cold water, shower, toilet, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, TV with satellite channels, mini bar, coffee/team maker, hair dryer and your own private balcony offering amazing views of the clear turquoise waters around you.

When you’re taking a break from diving you won’t find yourselves twiddling your thumbs as Mabul Water Bungalows has many other facilities including a large open air restaurant, souvenir shop, business center with internet service, full dive center, underwater video center, health spa and free WIFI internet access.

We would defiantly recommend Mabul Water Bungalows to anyone wanting to dive Sipadan but wouldn’t suggest it if you have non-divers in your group.

Sample Itinerary (4D/3N)

Day 1
  • Meet by resort staff representative at Tawau Airport upon arrival eta 0745hrs via MH2121 from Kota Kinabalu
  • Overland transfer to Semporna Jetty for boat departure to Mabul Island at 0930hrs
  • Boat journey will take about 40 minutes
  • Arrived Mabul Island and check in Mabul Water Bungalow
  • Diver will have one orientation dive & one boat dive in the afternoon
  • Lunch, dinner & overnight
Days 2 - 3
  • 3 boat dives daily
  • Unlimited jetty dive with buddy
  • Non Diver will be free at leisure for the whole stay
Day 4
  • Breakfast
  • Check out from resort via 1430hrs boat transfer
  • Proceed to Tawau Airport for next flight

  • Transfer between: Tawau – Semporna Jetty – Mabul Water Bungalows – Tawau by van and speedboat

    Hi there,
    I am interested to go there. Please quote me any resort (kapalai or sipadan) which have swimming pool as the kids has to be entertained during the stay.
    There will be 4 adults, 2 children (9 & 11yrs), 2 infant (3yrs and 2 years). Can we snorkel instead of dive? Please quote me both, snorkeling and diving for 3 adults 2 children while the rest is for stay only.

    Hi,
    I stayed with you 5 years ago in April 2007, at that time we were able to dive Sipadan every day for the week I was there. However, I’ve heard that is no longer possible due to newly imposed restrictions on the number of divers allowed.
    I would love to come back and dive there again but Sipadan would be the prime focus of my trip and I would want to dive there daily, is my understanding of the present circumstance correct or would I be able to dive there every day

  • Currency: Malaysian Ringgit approx 3MYR to 1USD
  • Language: Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese, although you would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't speak English.
  • Food Prices:In Semporna a seafood platter for 4 people can cost under 100RM(approx 28USD). Resort prices may vary
  • Alcohol Prices: 3 bottles of beer can cost under 30RM(approx 9USD) and a bottle of wine starts from 60RM(approx 18USD) in Semporna. Resort prices may vary
  • Sipadan Island:Got its name from the word Siparan which refers to a person who has been found restless on the island's beach.
